When and where is the Walk?
AIDS Walk Wisconsin will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at the Summerfest Grounds in Milwaukee.  Registration begins at 10:00 a.m., the opening ceremonies will take place at noon, with the official Walk start at 12:30 p.m.

How do I sign up?
It's easy! You have several choices:  Call 800.348.WALK, email aidswalkwisconsin@arcw.org or register online as soon as our site is live.

How much does it cost to register? Is there a minimum amount of money I need to raise in order to participate?
Registering for AIDS Walk Wisconsin is FREE and there is no minimum pledge amount required.  However, we encourage all of our walkers to set and work toward a personal fundraising goal.  Every dollar you raise helps provide quality health care for people living with HIV/AIDS.  Anyone who raises $100 or more will receive a 2012 AIDS Walk Wisconsin T-shirt.  You may also be eligible for exciting prizes.  Take the first step toward your fundraising goal by making a personal donation today!

If I registered for AIDS Walk Wisconsin over the phone, through the mail, or at an outreach event, should I still register online?
No. If you signed up for the Walk over the phone, through the mail or at an event, you're already registered.  You are now able to create a personal fundraising page and recruit friends and family to donate or join the team. 

How long is the Walk? Where does it start?
AIDS Walk Wisconsin starts at the Summerfest Grounds in Milwaukee. The Walk is approximately 5K (a little over 3 miles) and takes Walkers along the lakefront, past the Milwaukee Art Museum, around the Veterans Park lagoon and through Lakeshore State Park.

Are there rest stops along the way?
There are two rest stops along the way. Each rest stop will have refreshments and entertainment to keep walkers energized.

Is the route accessible?
Yes. The route is accessible for people using wheelchairs or scooters, as well as families with wagons or strollers.

Where can I park?
Free parking for Walk participants is available in the parking lot near the corner of Harbor Drive and Chicago (across from the main entrance gates to the Summerfest grounds). 

Can I bring my dog?
YES! AIDS Walk Wisconsin will have a special Dog Registration area on the grounds where walkers with dogs may turn in their pledges and receive dogs treats.

Will AIDS Walk Wisconsin be cancelled in the event of bad weather?
AIDS Walk Wisconsin takes place rain or shine. Please dress appropriately and join your fellow Walkers for the Walk regardless of the weather!

A friend wants to make a donation by personal check. Who should the check be made payable to?
Checks should be made out to:  AIDS Walk Wisconsin.

What should I do with my pledges if I want to turn them in before October 6, or if I can't make it to AIDS Walk Wisconsin?
We welcome pledges turned in ahead of time.  Pledges or donations can be mailed to AIDS Walk Wisconsin at the following address. Please include your contact information (name, address, phone, email) so AIDS Walk Wisconsin staff know to credit you for the pledges.

Offline donations received in the AIDS Walk Wisconsin office by noon, Friday, October 5, will be added to Walker fundraising totals prior to the Walk and will be on record at Walker Registration Saturday morning.

What are pledge forms for? Do I add my online pledges to my pledge form?
Pledge forms are for offline pledges only! Online pledges and offline pledges must stay separate. Please do not add any online pledges to your pledge form. Walker Registration will have your online fundraising total as well as the total of all pledges that you mailed into AIDS Walk Wisconsin prior to the day of the Walk. Staff at Walker Registration will add these totals with any cash or checks you bring on the day of the Walk.

Where does money raised from AIDS Walk Wisconsin go?
Money raised through AIDS Walk Wisconsin supports health, social service and prevention programs and services of the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin (ARCW), as well as several other Wisconsin organizations. All money raised for the Walk stays in Wisconsin for the fight against AIDS.
