As you know back in June I took a HUGE leap of faith, left an organization that I worked at for 16 years, and come to join the team here at ARCW. Like most first days, I was walked around by my supervisor, was introduced to many team members, and shown many different departments in the organization. This is what I expected for my first day, what I didn’t expect was the tremendous sense of Pride that I immediately felt for being part of this organization. What ARCW does for the HIV community is truly AMAZING! We touch almost every aspect of someone's life. From the food pantry to housing to medical to dental to mental health to pharmacy to legal services to case management to prevention and so much more. The people that work here are truly here and dedicated to helping the people that we serve. I am asked by many how my new job is going and I have just a very simple answer...I LOVE IT. My faith in humanity has been restored when I see so many people just trying to help. Just trying to be there for someone who may not have anyone else. Just trying to help those cope with this disease. I am so grateful that I was given this opportunity and that I work for such a wonderful organization.
Thank you for reading my story, my reason. Please consider donating....any amount goes along way.
Why donate to this walk: Today, more than 6,900 people are living with HIV/AIDS in Wisconsin and it's estimated that an additional 1,000 are undiagnosed but living with the disease. We walk to make sure that anyone who is living with HIV in Wisconsin has access to life-saving health care and social programs.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
